Overview
Wakt (وقتي, “my time”) shows the time, the Hijri date and the prayer times on any screen. A mosque, an office, a shop, a school or a living room only needs a TV or a computer with a browser.
In Jordan, the times come from the official prayer table that the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places publishes on its website. They sync automatically every day, so nobody has to update a screen by hand. If the official table cannot be reached, Wakt calculates the times astronomically and labels them as calculated.
Each mosque gets screens that handle the adhan, the iqama countdown, Friday prayer and Eid, plus a public page where worshippers can see the times and announcements. Screens keep working offline, and the parts that matter most (the adhan, the iqama and the prayer itself) are protected, so no announcement can cover them.
I built Wakt for the sake of Allah, as an ongoing charity (صدقة جارية). It is non-profit and completely free for individuals, mosques and organisations. It has no ads and no subscriptions, and the public pages need no sign-up and do not store your location.
Prayer screens
- Pair any TV or computer with a short code. It starts displaying straight away
- Clock, Gregorian and Hijri dates, the full day’s table and a countdown to the next prayer
- Adhan text on screen and the adhan audio for mosques, the dua after the adhan, then an iqama countdown
- Focus mode: secondary items such as weather and announcements fade out as the prayer approaches
- After-prayer adhkar, sunnah and nafl guidance, and a reminder to pray tahiyyat al-masjid
- Ramadan mode with suhoor and iftar, plus Friday, Eid and Islamic occasions
- Weather and the coming days’ forecast
